From the moment she learned her first words, Tracy Barone was a storyteller. She's been taking the road less traveled in her multifaceted writing career ever since. After earning her MFA at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she pursued a career as a playwright where her work was performed at venues such as The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons and La Mama. A literal road trip (gone wrong) and a screenwriting deal landed her in Hollywood where she pivoted into the executive ranks at studio production companies with deals at Tri-Star, Columbia and Warner brothers using her experience as a writer to acquire and develop numerous feature films including Men in Black, Guarding Tess and Ali. As President of Peters Entertainment she oversaw a slate of over 80 projects and was Executive Producer on the films Rosewood; Wild, Wild West, My Fellow Americans and Money Train.

After taking a meaningful pause from producing films to raise her daughter, Tracy returned to her roots as a writer with her critically acclaimed debut novel, Happy Family (Little Brown) which has been published in German (Diogenes Verlag) with further international distribution scheduled in 2022. Most recently she served as a writer/producer on Valley of the Boom for Nat Geo and has TV projects in development at Legendary Global and Asylum Entertainment/The Content Group and a feature film with Janet Yang Productions. She is writing her next book series Ziggurat and has written articles for Oprah.com, the LA Times and the New York Times.
